Aventurine and Emerald Amazing trip to the Mills of Stroud.

Last week we went on a trip to Dunkirk,Gigg and Ruskin Mills. At Gigg Mill we learnt how to weave and how to spin wool using a spinning wheel. We loved seeing all the interesting machines. We even got to try them ourselves. The two men, Robin and Peter, were lovely and really helped us to understand how to weave. We also went to Ruskin Mill where we saw a watermill and learnt about hydro- electricity. At Dunkirk mill we learnt about the work of a child in the mill. We were amazed to see the waterwheels working and the noise that they made. Did you know that the cloth from the mills is used for soldiers and for covering billiard tables? We all had a really fantastic day.It really was the best trip ever!
