Seasonal cooking day

Today, we dedicated the whole day to researching, developing and preparing our own seasonal salads. After our trip to Hawkwood College, we know all about what grows seasonally in the UK. First, we tasted ingredients in a traditional Greek salad and then thought about flavours and textures to create our own recipes. In groups, we used a range of tools to grate, peel, slice and chop fruits and vegetables. Next, we added ingredients such as seeds, olives and cheese before mixing and drizzling sweet and zingy dressings on our salads. As you can see, they not only looked irresistible but were also healthy and delicious!
